Job summary

Taylor Logistics Inc. seeks an Engine-Generator Assembler to lay out, drill, tap, and assemble electrical sub-panels and enclosures, and to mount components per blueprints in a manufacturing setting in Louisville, MS.

The role includes in-house and in-field electrical service support as needed. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of power generation preferred, and strong problem-solving, teamwork, and mechanical-assembly skills.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with Power Generation would be a plus.
  • Must have good technical problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Must work well with others and possess good people skills.
  • Job requires stooping, bending, climbing, and capability of lifting 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions.
  • Skills to perform mechanical assembly jobs using small hand tools.
  • Must pass the test to operate forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical sub-panels and enclosures per blueprints.
  • Mount and interconnect components to equipment per blueprints.
  • Provide in-house and in-field electrical service support as needed.
  • Assemble diesel generators and gas engine-generator sets using machinist's tools and following blueprints.
  • File and deburr parts; clean parts with solvent and compressed air.
  • Position rotors and armatures into stator or field ring and align with shafts.
  • Secure assemblies using bolts and wrenches.
  • Align heads to ensure rotor or armature turns freely and adjust airgap with precision instruments.
  • Pack chamber with grease to lubricate bearings.
  • Assemble external parts such as fans, covers, exciters, control panels, space heaters, and piping.
  • Level and align unit on bedplate or test base and couple to drive motor or test instruments.
  • Dismantle equipment after testing and inspect parts for wear.
  • May be designated Engine-Generator Assembler.
  • Some assemblies require adhesives and epoxies.
  • Assemblers may work on subassemblies or finished products.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
