Job summary

Novanta is hiring an Assembler I in Bedford, MA to assemble and test components that create finished products. You will read instructions and schematics, collaborate with the team, and focus on quality, safety, and efficiency in production.

The role requires reading assembly drawings, soldering, and operating test equipment, with emphasis on 5S and ISO 9001 knowledge. Base pay ranges from $18 to $22 per hour, depending on market.

Qualifications

• Experience with opto-electronics and PCB components.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
• Familiar with QMS ISO 9001 standards.
• Knowledge of ESD and 5S principles.
• IPC solder requirements verified (IPC610).

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and adhere to work instructions, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
• Use hand tools properly and safely for assembly.
• Mechanical assembly of products to meet quality and output targets.
• Solder cables and through-hole components within quality limits.
• Inspect products and identify non-conformances.
• Operate pass/fail test equipment (ALTF, PD Test).
• Maintain cleanliness of workstation per 5S standards.
