Job summary

Ag-Leader in Ames, IA is seeking a hands-on assembler to build mechanical, electronic, and cable assemblies to precise standards. Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old (summer students at least 16).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must perform repetitive precision work within set tolerances.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate problems clearly.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand or sit for 8 hours with breaks.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness to work 40 hours/week plus overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Build small mechanical, electronic & cable assemblies to WMHA standards.
• Soldering to Class 3 IPC standard.
• Pick or count parts to complete jobs and stocking needs.
• Perform repetitive assembly operations to produce products such as cable assemblies, sensors, computer, and circuit board assemblies.
• Perform testing processes for component functionality and to ensure assemblies meet quality standards.
• Use hand tools and/or semi-automated equipment to fasten parts together.
• Follow written assembly instructions or prepared examples of assemblies.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow quality control, Kanban, ESD and 5S procedures.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
