Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 3 to join our team in Rolling Meadows, IL. The selected candidate will execute and support all optical activities related to the production of opto‑mechanical, electro‑optical, electronic, and/or mechanical assemblies. Responsibilities include working from diagrams and drawings, using hand and power tools, performing continuity checks, and reworking prototype assemblies as directed by engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly, integration, and modification of complex systems and components.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
• Use a wide range of precision hand tools, torque tools, measuring equipment, and mechanical test equipment.
• Perform mechanical fit‑up, alignment, and hardware installation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years of mechanical assembly work experience.
• Hands‑on experience with various tooling and equipment.
• Experience following work instructions and reading/interpreting drawings.
• Experience building or working with wire harnesses and/or cable assemblies.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with precision mechanical assemblies and tight tolerance work.
• Soldering, crimping, and connector installation experience.
• Troubleshooting experience with new hardware design.

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $53,500.00 – $89,100.00. The range is a guideline and may vary based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and other incentives.
