Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Bohemia, NY is seeking a Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Assembler to build, test, fabricate and inspect products in standard and non-standard environments. Your duties include reading blueprints and instructions, operating hand and power tools, and maintaining quality and inventory.

You will follow engineering specs, perform rework when needed, and uphold safety and cleanliness in a dynamic production setting.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. GED in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or a related technical environment.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings as part of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and follow work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
• Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain an organized inventory of materials at workstations.
• Perform quality checks on assembled products and document defects; rework/repair to engineering specifications.
• Adhere to safety procedures and keep a clean, safe work area.
