Job summary

Toyota Manufacturing seeks a Skilled Die Build Technician to repair and produce casting dies for aluminum cylinder heads supporting engine production across North American plants. The role emphasizes CAM programming and CNC operation in a heavy manufacturing setting.

You will interpret blueprints, perform welding and machining, modify dies for quality, and log daily activities while working shifts that may include overtime, weekends, and holidays; a 2-year AAS or equivalent experience is

Qualifications

• AAS in Precision Machining or 2 years of related experience.
• Experience programming using CAM and operating CNC equipment.
• Experience operating manual machining equipment (lathe, mill, surface grinder).
• Experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).
• Ability to read/interpret mechanical blueprints and specifications.
• Experience assembling and finishing dies with welding and machining.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge; problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to work any shift, overtime, holidays, weekends, shutdowns.

Responsibilities

• Program using CAM and operate CNC equipment.
• Operate manual machining equipment such as lathe, mill, surface grinder.
• Use precision instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerance.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints and specifications.
• Perform welding, grinding, machining, hand finishing and fabrication.
• Make die modifications for surface quality and accuracy.
• Assemble and disassemble dies and die components.
• Operate cranes and industrial vehicles; conduct emergency repairs.
• Maintain daily logs of activities, issues, and progress.
• Work in a team setting to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
• Stand and walk 10-12 hours per shift; tolerate non-climate-controlled environment.
