Job summary

Ideal Electric Company in Mansfield, OH, seeks a Manufacturing Technician/Winder to perform winding, assembly, press operation and spot welding within our production team. You will work closely with the Production Supervisor to ensure quality and on-time manufacturing of rotors, stators, and related components.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least two years in heavy manufacturing, and the ability to read diagrams and prints.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or certified equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand prints, use logic, and troubleshoot problems.
• Teamwork with strong communication skills.
• Experience operating manufacturing equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes is helpful.
• Experience with large motors, generators, and rotating equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions from shop orders, drawings, and schematics.
• Wind and connect stators, armatures, and rotors; insulate, press, or heat coils as needed.
• Install collectors or commutators and make proper connections.
• Occasionally install equalizers, wire or bar wound; install heat detectors; repair detectors as required.
• Test continuity, shorts, grounds, resistance, and hi-pot; inspect and clean slots; block and tape coil ends.
• Obtain parts and supplies; operate soldering equipment and related tools as required.
