Job summary

Genuine Machine Products in Tempe, AZ, seeks an experienced CNC lathe technician to set up and run lathes, translate blueprints, and optimize tooling and processes.

You will monitor cycles, adjust and verify measurements to ensure repeatability, while performing routine maintenance to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical education preferred.
  • 5+ years of CNC lathe set‑up and operation; aerospace experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Mazak and/or Nakamura machines preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of CNC machining, tooling selection, and materials.
  • Proven blueprint reading and documentation skills.
  • Detail‑minded problem solver with strong communication.
  • Self‑starter who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own set‑ups and production on CNC lathes to meet engineering specs and tight tolerances.
  • Translate blueprints and technical drawings into efficient tooling and process plans.
  • Watch cycles—adjust, measure, and verify to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot to protect uptime.
  • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges; document results.
  • Keep your area clean, organized, and safe; model best practices.
  • Collaborate to improve process capability and throughput.
  • Comply with all safety rules, quality standards, and company policies.
