Job summary

Sandvik Coromant in Westminster, SC is seeking a Utility Operator to support our OD and Centerless Grinding operations. You will set up, operate, and monitor CNC grinding equipment to produce high-quality carbide cutting tools that meet engineering specs.

You will read blueprints, perform offsets, and verify dimensions with precision tools. Responsibilities include tool inspection, reporting quality concerns, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic math and measurement skills required.
• Ability to use measuring and inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and material handling devices.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC grinding machines and make required offsets and adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tool specifications accurately.
• Program and operate grinding equipment to produce tools to specification.
• Inspect tools using precision measuring equipment.
• Verify product quality throughout the manufacturing process and on finished tools.
• Identify and communicate quality concerns to programmers, engineers, or supervisors.
• Perform daily machine checks and basic equipment care to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow safety procedures.
• Support continuous improvement and cross-training.
