Job summary

United States Steel Corporation is seeking a CNC Thread Operator to set up, operate, and monitor CNC threading machines for premium connections. You will read orders, blueprints, and specs to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality, performing tooling changes, adjustments, and inspections with supervision as needed.

The role requires ability to maintain safety and production standards, work with precision measuring tools, and participate in maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year manufacturing, machining, or industrial experience with CNC premium connections.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, specs, and process instructions.
• Knowledge of machine offsets, tooling installation, insert replacement, and chuck jaw setup.
• Familiarity with CNC controls and G-code interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC threading machines, lathes, and related equipment with minimal supervision.
• Load and unload materials; set up tooling and fixtures.
• Perform machine offset adjustments to maintain accuracy.
• Monitor production runs and verify settings; troubleshoot issues.
• Complete in-process and final quality checks with precise data recording.
