Job summary

Qualdoc in Ashland, VA is seeking a CNC Steel Fabrication Operator for the 1st shift. You will set up and run CNC equipment for structural steel parts, review drawings, and verify dimensions and quality.

Candidates must have structural steel fabrication experience, read blueprints, and be proficient with hand and power tools. ERP experience with Global Shop is a plus. The role requires teamwork and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

Structural steel fabrication experience is required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Basic computer skills; experience with ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machinery used in structural steel production, including combination mill/lathe and drill line machines.
Review blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and work orders before and during production.
Machine and assemble structural steel components using hand and power tools.
Make machine adjustments to maintain dimensions, accuracy, and production quality.
Inspect completed parts to verify they meet drawing and structural specifications.
Identify equipment issues and perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
Enter production information and maintain records using ERP software.
Work with the production team to maintain a safe, organized, and productive work area.
