Job summary

Confident Search Consultants is seeking a CNC Programmer in Buffalo, NY, to develop and optimize CNC programs for precision parts. You will work closely with machinists, manufacturing engineering, and quality to translate engineering requirements into safe, efficient processes that meet dimensional and finish specs.

The role requires practical CNC programming experience, ability to read drawings with GD&T, and proficiency in G-code/M-code and CAD/CAM software.

Qualifications

Practical CNC programming experience in precision manufacturing.
Ability to read engineering drawings and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficiency with G-code and M-code; familiarity with CAM software.
Experience with CAD/CAM software and program verification.
Ability to troubleshoot on the shop floor and communicate with machinists and engineers.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, and maintain CNC programs from drawings and requirements.
Develop machining sequences, select tools, holders, workholding, speeds, and setups.
Use CAD/CAM tools and simulations to verify machining before release.
Support first-piece prove-outs, machine setups, troubleshooting, and program adjustments.
Optimize toolpaths, cycle times, tool life, surface finish, and dimensional consistency.
Prepare setup sheets, tooling lists, and program documentation; manage revisions.
Collaborate with quality to verify that processes meet print requirements.
Assist with fixture concepts and feedback on manufacturability.
