Job summary

Twin City Die Castings Company in Watertown, SD is seeking an operator for secondary operations and quality checks. You will read blueprints, set up CNC lathes and machining centers, and verify finished parts with a coordinate measuring machine.

Responsibilities include measuring dimensions, detecting tool wear by listening to machines, stopping machines for tooling changes, lifting parts, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must read, understand and follow written and verbal work instructions and safety requirements.
• Ability to learn and safely operate assigned equipment and machinery.
• Demonstrate initiative by staying engaged and addressing work-related needs.
• Adhere to safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurement tasks.

Responsibilities

• Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds indicating dull tools or excessive vibration and notify appropriate personnel.
• Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement as required.
• Lift workpieces to machines manually or with hoists or cranes.
• Insert control instructions into machine control units to start operation.
• Follow all safety and environmental rules and procedures and ensure personal activity does not affect safety of self or others.
• All other duties as assigned.
