Is this you?Detail-driven machinist who verifies every dimension with confidence.Comfortable loading programs from servers and dialing in CNC parameters.Hands-on pro at setups on VMCs, with familiarity on 2–4 axis lathes (Mazak).What you’ll doOperate computer-controlled machines to run one or more machining functions on metal workpieces while upholding quality and safety standards.Review program specifications and blueprints to determine operations, sequencing, finished dimensions, and control paths.Transfer programs from servers to CNC modules via network links and insert control instructions into the control unit.Set up the job: mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces using hand tools and precision gages.Start, monitor, and record machine operations; ensure proper lubrication and cooling throughout the cycle.Test and adjust machine speeds or actions per product specs using gauges and hand tools.Listen for indicators such as dull tools or excessive vibration and make compensating adjustments.Stop machines to remove finished parts or to change tooling, setups, or workpiece placement based on the required sequence.Measure all critical dimensions with precision instruments, templates, and fixtures to confirm conformance.Inspect finished pieces for defects (e.g., chipped edges, marred surfaces) and sort nonconforming parts by flaw type.Replace dull cutting tools as needed.Keep accurate records and help maintain equipment and supplies.Additional responsibilities may be assigned.What you knowMachines and tools—design, usage, repair, and preventive maintenance.How to stay current: training, coursework, and technical publications.Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and efficiency methods for manufacturing and distribution.Applied math: trigonometry, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics.Machines & technologiesCNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)CNC Lathe (2–4 axis) (Mazak)
