Job summary

Reading Bakery Systems in Indianapolis, IN is seeking 1st and 2nd shift Machinists to operate manual and CNC equipment and manufacture high-precision components for industrial bakery systems.

You will interpret engineering drawings, set up saws, drills, lathes, mills, surface grinders and CNC machines, and edit simple G-code/M-code.

This role emphasizes quality, safety, documentation, and teamwork, with opportunities to support assembly and mentoring for fellow machinists.

Qualifications

• Must read engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Experience with manual and CNC machining equipment.
• Ability to write or edit simple CNC programs using G-code/M-code.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, BOMs, and determine machining requirements.
• Set up and operate saws, drills, lathes, mills, grinders, CNC centers, and lathes.
• Select tools, feeds, speeds, and coolants to meet tolerances.
• Inspect parts with micrometers and calipers for quality.
• Support assembly and perform basic welding as needed.
• Document production and quality records and maintain safety.
• Provide guidance to peers and assist machinist coordination when required.
