Job summary

PRL, Inc. is seeking a Manual/CNC Machinist to operate manual or CNC milling/boring machines and lathes.

You will manufacture parts to customer specifications from castings, bar stock and other materials, following blueprints, standards and procedures to ensure high quality and precision. The role requires a high school diploma (Associate's preferred), experience in machining, ability to read blueprints, use measuring tools, and work with GD&T.

Qualifications

• Ability to use manual machine tools (set-ups, machine positioning, etc.), read and interpret blueprints, and use various measuring tools.
• Knowledge of shop math, trigonometry, and geometric dimensioning/tolerancing is essential.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and read/write in English.
• Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and or CNC machines, using hand tools and measuring tools.
• Use CNC machines, including familiarity with G and M programming codes, with minor edits at the machine.
• Demonstrate knowledge of speeds, feeds, tooling, print/drawing interpretation, and maintenance.
• Machine parts to tolerances as close as .0002 inch.
• Assist in designing jigs and fixtures for machining parts.
• Follow verbal and written instructions, sketches, and blueprints; communicate clearly.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand/floor trucks as needed.
• Verify documents match parts; record information and maintain records.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area; perform other duties as assigned.
• Work independently with limited supervision and scheduling responsibilities.
• Employer may assign additional duties; participate in annual safety training.
