Job summary

Mersen is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Kentucky manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, read engineering drawings, apply GD&T, and produce precision components to exact specifications.

You are expected to maintain safe work practices and document quality results. The ideal candidate has hands-on CNC experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and with a team to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience or technical training is required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of basic machining principles, feeds and speeds.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or other CNC machinery.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and GD&T.
• Load tools, set offsets, and make machine adjustments as needed.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Make basic program edits and offsets as required.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and dimensional issues.
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow all safety procedures and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with programmers, engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to resolve issues.
