Job summary

Mersen is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for the 3rd shift to join our manufacturing team. You will operate CNC mills and lathes, interpret engineering drawings, and produce precision components to spec.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with CNC machines, GD&T, and precision measuring tools. A strong focus on quality, safety, and teamwork with engineers and supervisors is required.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience or relevant technical training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of basic machining principles, cutting tools, feeds and speeds.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Experience with CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
• Knowledge of G-code and CNC programming.
• Experience with GD&T.
• Experience machining aluminum, steel, stainless steel, or other production materials.
• Vocational, technical, or machining certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or other CNC machinery.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and GD&T.
• Load tools, set offsets, and make machine adjustments as needed.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Make basic program edits and offsets as required.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and dimensional issues.
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements.
• Work effectively with programmers, engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to resolve production issues.
