Job summary

Pol-Tech Machining is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer to join their Woodruff, SC team. This hands-on role rewards precision machining expertise and a commitment to craftsmanship and technical excellence.

You will set up and operate CNC machines, write and optimize programs, read engineering drawings and GD&T, and participate in in-process quality checks. Mastercam experience and multi-axis capability are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist and/or CNC Programmer in a precision machining environment.
• Proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software (Mastercam)
• Expertise in Swiss Lathe, EDM, and/or multi-axis milling (3, 3+2, full 5)
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T callouts
• Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers
• Strong understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, and material properties
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to tight tolerances and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision machined components
• Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and CAM software
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
• Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make program or tooling adjustments as needed
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding equipment for each job
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop standards
