Job summary

POL-TECH MACHINING is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our Woodruff, SC team. You will set up, program, and operate CNC machines, reading drawings and GD&T while ensuring tight tolerances and high-quality parts.

Ideal candidates bring Mastercam experience, Swiss Lathe, EDM, and multi-axis milling exposure. Join a hands-on shop focused on craftsmanship, precision, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Machinist/Programmer in a precision machining environment.
• Proficient in G-code and CAM software (Mastercam).
• Experience with Swiss Lathe, EDM, and/or multi-axis milling.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T callouts.
• Familiar with CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers.
• Strong understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, and material properties.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision machined components.
• Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and CAM software.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs or tooling as needed.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding for each job.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop standards.

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision machined components

• Specifically looking for expertise in Swiss Lathe, EDM (or willing to learn quickly), and/or multi-axis milling (3, 3+2, full 5).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T callouts
• Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers
• Strong understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, and material properties
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to tight tolerances and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced shop environment
