Job summary

Raytheon seeks a CNC Machinist for an on-site role in Tucson, AZ. The position requires operating CNC and conventional machines, reading blueprints, and maintaining tight tolerances. Strong inspection skills with micrometers and calipers are essential, as is the ability to work any shift and obtain ATF clearance.

You will set up processes, perform tool changes, verify quality, and support the production of precision parts in a unionized environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years recent experience operating CNC and conventional machines.
• Must read verbal and written operation instructions (work orders, CNC data sheets, blueprints).
• Ability to use inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Able to perform tool offset changes and evaluate tool wear.
• Must be able to work any designated shift, including overnight, and obtain ATF clearance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines on precision parts.
• Maintain quality of setups with knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and blueprint planning.
• Use inspection equipment to verify parts and ensure conformance to tolerances.
• Perform deburring and finishing on metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Maintain finishes and tolerances using various equipment.
• Operate rotary, vibrating, and tumbling equipment and grit blasting.
• Handle material prep equipment with proper speeds and feeds for shearing and cutting.
• Use magnification/visual enhancement devices for small parts.
