Job summary

Professional Employment Group is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist in Longmont, CO to set up and operate CNC machining centers and produce precision components to tight tolerances. This direct placement opportunity offers competitive pay and growth within a precision machine shop.

The candidate should have 3-5 years of CNC experience, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to run complex multi-operation setups. Basic Windows/MS Office skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Strong blueprint reading and technical document skills.
• Ability to run complex, multi-operation setups to close tolerances.
• Comfortable troubleshooting programs and machine issues independently.
• Basic computer skills (Windows, MS Office a plus).
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, program sheets, and process instructions
• Set up and operate CNC machining centers (milling, drilling, boring, turning, threading, etc.)
• Select and install tooling; load and edit programs at the machine control
• Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot malfunctions or worn tooling
• Inspect and gauge parts to ensure conformance to specifications
• Adjust feeds/speeds and correct out-of-tolerance conditions
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
