Job summary

MTI is a 100-year-old family-run company in South Bend, IN, seeking a skilled machinist who thrives on precision and teamwork. You will read blueprints, use micrometers/calipers, and apply GD&T to ensure parts meet exact tolerances for aerospace and defense applications.

You will set up and operate CNC equipment, measure parts, and collaborate with engineering and production to solve problems, grow skills, and contribute to Lean/5S initiatives in a stable, local shop.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and GD&T to spec parts.
• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and gauges accurately.
• Strong attention to tolerances and measurement precision.

Responsibilities

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and calipers.
• Machine parts to exact specifications.
• Run production pre or post welding machining.
• Set up and operate CNC equipment.
• Measure and test parts to ensure conformance to specs.
