Job summary

Martinic Engineering Inc. seeks an experienced machinist to operate CNC and conventional machining centers on semi-complex jobs.

You will read blueprints, set up tools, adjust feeds and speeds, and work with limited guidance in a team environment to meet tight tolerances. Responsibilities include inspecting parts with gauges and micrometers, maintaining equipment, and applying lean manufacturing methods to improve productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years related machining experience.
• Reads blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics (trigonometry possible).
• Able to apply lean initiatives.
• Effective verbal and written communication; teamwork.
• Interprets reports; uses job-specific software (PMR, TORS, email).

Responsibilities

• Sets up and runs multiple production machines, sometimes simultaneously; perform cutting, shaping, deburring, drilling and reaming as pre-planned.
• Aligns and fastens work using fixtures and methods.
• Installs and adjusts cutting tools for material and tooling.
• Follows established manufacturing methods and adjusts feeds/speeds.
• Inspects parts with gauges and micrometers; checks tolerances.
• Maintains equipment and performs SPC as required.
• Supports lean initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs.
