Job summary

Mate Precision Technologies in Anoka, MN is seeking a skilled 1st Shift Machinist to set up and operate CNC and conventional machines, forging precision components in a clean, climate-controlled environment.

You will read blueprints, apply GD&T, inspect parts with precision tools, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to drive continuous improvement and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a two-year technical degree is preferred.
• Experience operating CNC and/or conventional machining equipment.
• Knowledge of machine tooling, fixtures, processes, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
• Comfort using precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges.
• Familiarity with machine programming features and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and conventional machines to produce precision components.
• Inspect own work using precision measuring tools and GD&T.
• Troubleshoot issues to keep production running smoothly.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to drive continuous improvement (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping).
• Support safety and team training initiatives.
