Job summary

Avalign Technologies, Inc. in Mentor, OH is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist to join the Avalign Integrated Medical team on a 3rd shift schedule. The role focuses on operating conventional and CNC machines to fabricate precision medical implants per customer specs.

You will read blueprints, set up tools, and perform precise measurements with micrometers/calipers, while maintaining 5S and documenting inspections and maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification a plus).
• Min 3 year of operating and setting up CNC Lathe machines; min 1 year of reading blueprints.
• Min 1 year of GD&T experience; measuring tolerances using micrometers, calipers and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot Star CNC Swiss machines to produce precision medical implants.
• Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and adjustments as needed to maintain tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators to inspect machined parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and daily preventative maintenance (P.M.) on machines.
• Document production activities, including first-piece inspection logs, maintenance records, and work orders.
• Follow strict quality control procedures, including ID & traceability protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize machining processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles.
