Job summary

ADP, Inc. in Elkhart, IN is seeking a Metal Fabrication Operator for the 3rd shift to set up and operate CNC turret punch presses and laser cutting machines to produce precision sheet metal parts.

You will read and interpret blueprints and job orders, load materials, monitor machining, inspect finished parts with calipers and micrometers, perform basic maintenance, and keep a safe, organized work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience operating CNC turret and/or laser machines in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with metal types, gauges, and machine tooling.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork; able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring safety is always the #1 priority.
• Set up and operate CNC turret and laser cutting machines to produce precision sheet metal parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints and job orders to determine setup and operation requirements.
• Load and unload sheet metal materials onto machines using proper handling techniques.
• Monitor machine operation during cutting or punching to ensure part accuracy and minimize waste.
• Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain part quality and consistency.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment and report issues or malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and hazard-free.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
