Job summary

Apex Laser in Los Angeles is seeking a skilled CNC Laser Cutting Programmer-Operator to join its fast-paced shop. You will program and operate industrial laser cutters to produce precision parts from steel, aluminum, and stainless, ensuring tight tolerances and clean edges.

You’ll read engineering drawings, optimize cutting parameters, stage and nest jobs to minimize downtime, and verify quality with meticulous inspections.

Qualifications

• Experience programming and operating industrial CNC laser cutters.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and prints with accuracy.
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification (or certified).
• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and safely operating a forklift.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with a drive for precision.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate industrial CNC laser cutters to produce precision parts from steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications with accuracy.
• Optimize performance by adjusting gas pressure, focal point, and feed rates; resolve errors quickly.
• Plan ahead by staging materials, nesting, and sequencing work to reduce downtime.
• Verify quality with meticulous inspections to ensure parts meet standards before downstream.
