Job summary

Apex Laser in Los Angeles is seeking a skilled CNC Laser Cutting Programmer-Operator to join its fast-paced shop. You will program and operate industrial laser cutters to produce precision parts from steel, aluminum, and stainless, ensuring tight tolerances and clean edges.

You’ll read engineering drawings, optimize cutting parameters, stage and nest jobs to minimize downtime, and verify quality with meticulous inspections.

Qualifications

• Experience programming and operating industrial CNC laser cutters.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and prints with accuracy.
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification (or certified).
• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and safely operating a forklift.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with a drive for precision.

Responsibilities

You scan the queue, load the next job, and nest parts to minimize scrap. You dial in gas pressure, focal offset, and cut speeds, then watch the first part glide free—clean edges, tight tolerances, zero burr. While the machine hums, you’re already staging the next sheet, reading prints, and double‑checking specs so there’s no wasted motion.
