Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Technician for our Clean Room in Van Horn, TX. You will perform precision cleaning, inspection, testing, and final packaging of aerospace components, contributing to safe, repeatable spaceflight.

Expect a hands-on environment with strict quality and safety standards, requiring attention to detail and teamwork. Responsibilities include cleaning, passivation, hydrostatic testing, disassembly and reassembly, and maintaining lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
• Effective written and verbal communication with teams.
• Ability to operate software and MS Office tools as needed.
• Physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs and handle heavy hardware.
• Flexibility to meet production schedule rotations.

Responsibilities

• Clean and passivate hardware using solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic methods.
• Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of tubing/piping/components.
• Disassemble, inspect, rebuild and test components.
• Safely handle hardware with overhead cranes, hoists and lifting equipment.
• Use titration and other measurements to analyze lab solvent/chemical systems.
• Identify hardware per technical docs using various identification methods.
• Inspect parts with UV light, borescope, particle counts, and precise weighing.
• Perform shop maintenance and calibration of pumps, tanks, filtration, scales, etc.
• Maintain general housekeeping in lab and certified clean room area.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE as required.
