Job summary

Vulcan Metals Corporation is seeking a Chipper/Grinder to clean, grind, and finish steel castings to meet customer specs. You will operate pneumatic and electric grinders and related tools to prep castings for final inspection and shipment.

Shift options include 1st and 2nd, with pay of $24.38 per hour. Responsibilities include inspecting castings for defects, moving castings with cranes, and adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand long periods, and work in hot, dusty environments.
• Must be medically qualified, fit-tested, and able to wear a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Grind, chip, and finish surfaces to required dimensions and smoothness.
• Inspect castings for defects and report issues to supervision or quality control.
• Operate cranes, hoists, or material handling equipment safely.
• Follow work instructions, blueprints, and quality standards.
