Job summary

MSD is seeking a Calibration Technician to support the Calibration Program by performing pipette calibrations and maintaining the equipment database within the Bioanalytical Lab. The role includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and assisting in repairs in the Quality organization.

You will schedule calibrations with vendors, coordinate calibration contractors, and ensure compliance with ISO 8655, ISO 9001/13485, and MSD procedures. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in scientific field with 1 year of lab experience or equivalent.
• Experience with pipette calibrations per ISO 8655 is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 13485 standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment (plate washers, plate readers, pipettors).
• Calibrate pipettes to ISO 8655 specifications with peer review of calibration records.
• Initiate, review and complete Out of Specification calibration reports per MSD procedures.
• Schedule equipment calibration with laboratory designees and coordinate with vendors.
• Coordinate and assist calibration contractors and maintain calibration records.
• Maintain and update the equipment database and inventory.
• Perform troubleshooting and basic repairs on equipment and ensure 5S compliance.
