Job summary

Southern Manufacturing Technologies (SMT) is seeking a Calibration Technician to ensure accurate calibration of measuring equipment and maintain calibrated processes. The role emphasizes meticulous documentation, recall system management, and collaboration with QA to uphold industry standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of gage calibration experience in a precision machining environment, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while following written and verbal

Qualifications

• 5+ years in gage calibration for precision machining
• Proficiency in calibrating and repairing measurement devices
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration on measuring instruments per established procedures
• Document calibration results and maintain detailed records
• Manage calibration recall system for timely recalibration
• Troubleshoot and repair instruments not meeting calibration standards
• Coordinate with outside vendors for calibration
• Coordinate vendor visits for on-site calibration
• Collaborate with QA to resolve calibration issues
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain organized calibration/gage storage areas
• Assist in development/improvement of calibration procedures
