Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Croswell, MI is seeking a Bulk Sugar Packaging and Logistics Technician to keep food-grade sugar moving safely and precisely—from milling to loading bulk trailers and railcars.

You will calibrate scales, set up tote-filling lines, verify weights for dry and liquid sugars, and complete quality checks while using a computer to enter data and adjust machine settings. This role requires teamwork, safety focus, and the ability to lift 40–50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production or manufacturing setting preferred.
• Able to learn simple programming changes at machine interface.
• Active SQF and GMP quality systems understanding and safety practices preferred.
• Forklift license and willingness to drive as required.
• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill, measure, and verify weights for bulk sugar in trailers and railcars to exact specifications.
• Load and accurately measure liquid sugar co-products using trailers and railcars.
• Perform and document quality checks to confirm products meet customer, SQF, and GMP requirements.
• Complete required documentation and use computers to enter data; adjust machine programming when needed.
• Set up and operate the sugar tote-filling line efficiently and safely.
• Train to operate a powdered sugar mill and produce product that meets quality targets.
• Report equipment or process issues promptly to the team leader and collaborate on solutions.
• Follow all safety procedures and good manufacturing practices.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned; duties may evolve with business needs.
