Job summary

Sherwin-Williams Purdy brushmaking team is seeking an operator to make quality knots for professional brushes. The role requires operating heavy machinery and following strict quality and productivity standards on the 2nd shift (1:00pm–9:00pm) with a $1.00/hour shift differential and bonus eligibility.

Responsibilities include inspecting brushes, routing materials, using scanners, and assisting with setup and troubleshooting to ensure zero-defect products.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Preferred: at least one (1) year of experience working with machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferred: at least one (1) year of experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods.
• Preferred: experience with fine manipulation (such as sewing, cutting hair or related activities).

Responsibilities

• Check route sheets for brush specifications.
• Take brushes off conveyor, inspect for quality, gauge, and straighten.
• Place combed brushes in tray or on conveyor.
• Notify set up operator of any quality inconsistencies.
• Meet productivity and quality standards; complete time sheets accurately.
• Use a scanner to track orders on/off.
• Gather materials (ferrules, plugs, inserts, labels, pull down, magnet).
• Set up the power chisel with correct bar and clamp.
• Remove brush head from lower conveyor; adjust filament and butt.
• Inspect brush head quality and place completed head on the top conveyor.
