Job summary

Rush Truck Centers seeks a Body Shop Technician to repair or replace damaged body parts to Pre-Accident Condition according to factory specs. The job aims for an invisible repair, meeting or exceeding original fit and finish.

Responsibilities include reviewing repair orders, following documentation, using frame/measuring equipment, performing teardown, and ensuring quality checks before painting and detailing. CDL/Medical card preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Three years’ body shop experience.
• ICAR Welding Certificate required.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets insurer requirements.
• CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review repair orders, work orders, and estimator notes to understand repairs before work on the vehicle.
• All repairs must be completed according to repair order documentation or supplements.
• Knowledge of manufacturer’s and technical repair process.
• Ability to use frame and measuring equipment per vendor procedures.
• Perform initial teardown of vehicle.
• Identify parts for cut-in and edging.
• Perform repairs according to factory specifications and company policy; I-Car Standard.
• Sign-off on all quality checks before sending vehicle to paint department.
• Re-assemble painted vehicle and parts.
• Perform final quality check and review of work order before sending vehicle to detail department.
• Work with apprentice or lesser skilled technicians to develop repair skills.
