Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Body Shop Mechanic to repair or replace damaged body parts to pre-accident condition following factory and dealership specifications. The role requires 3 years of body shop experience and an ICAR Welding Certificate, plus a valid driver’s license.

You will review repair orders, perform teardown and final quality checks, use frame equipment, and mentor apprentices as needed. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Three years’ body shop experience.
• ICAR Welding Certificate.
• Current and valid driver license; driving record must meet insurability guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review each repair order and notes to understand repairs needed before work begins.
• All repairs must follow repair order documentation or supplements.
• Knowledge of manufacturer’s and repair process.
• Use frame and measuring equipment per vendor procedures.
• Perform initial teardown of vehicle.
• Identify parts for cut-in and edging.
• Perform repairs per factory specs and I-CAR standards.
• Sign-off on all quality checks before sending to paint.
• Re-assemble painted vehicle and parts.
• Final quality check before detailing.
• Guide apprentices or less skilled technicians to develop repair skills.
