Job summary

JBS USA is seeking a Beef Modernization Sorter to perform precision knife cuts and make informed decisions related to pathology and sanitary dressing. You will operate in a high-paced environment with emphasis on Food Safety and Quality.

The role requires observation skills, willingness to train others, and teamwork within USDA-FSIS interfaces. Base salary starts at entry level with annual bonus potential; benefits follow after probation.

Qualifications

• Harvest floor knife experience.
• Ability to sharpen a knife and maintain a sharp knife.
• Willingness to learn anatomy, physiology and pathological disease processes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented and disciplined.
• Interested in work that challenges you mentally.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull product repetitively.
• Work effectively in a TEAM atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Beef Modernization Sorters perform precision knife cuts to assess pathology, presentation or dressing deficiencies.
• They work in a fast-paced environment with Food Safety and Quality as top priorities.
• They train and educate others as needed.
• Coordinate with harvest floor departments and USDA-FSIS inspectors.
