Job summary

Knife River is hiring to support concrete operations in California. You will be producing and batching concrete, dispatching trucks, handling daily customer orders, and maintaining material inventories at the plant.

You’ll also handle reporting, maintenance scheduling, and issue resolution while upholding safety and a people‑first culture. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid California driver’s license, and willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license.
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends.
• Regular attendance required.
• Excellent communication with customers and company personnel.
• Extensive knowledge of the surrounding area and company products.
• Ability to increase skills and efficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret maps.
• Perform mathematical functions for billing, volumes, quantities.
• Ability to do basic arithmetic and graph interpretation.
• Computer skills to enter orders into software.

Responsibilities

• Produce and batch in-spec concrete for area projects.
• Dispatch daily trucks for safe and timely delivery of concrete.
• Manage phones to assist concrete customers with daily orders.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of raw material to meet plant needs.
• Complete daily reporting and paperwork accurately and timely.
• Manage the preventative maintenance schedule and perform minor repairs.
• Help resolve quality or customer issues.
• Address or elevate personnel issues.
• Promote a people‑first and safe working environment.
