Job summary

Engineered Steel Products (ESP), a North Carolina based steel fabrication company, is hiring a Band Saw Operator to join our processing area in Sophia, NC.

As a full-time, on-site role you will operate the Band Saw, Drill Line, Angle Line and Plasma Table, and cut steel to drawings while measuring parts. Maintain a clean workspace, set up machines correctly, and collaborate with the Shop Foreman and Plant Manager. Safety and quality are essential; you must read tape measures to 1/16 inch.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of structural steel shapes and sizes
• Comfortable working with machinery
• Can read a tape measure (accurately to the 1/16 of an inch)
• Experience operating an overhead crane
• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Strong focus on safety and quality work

Responsibilities

• Operate Band Saw, Drill Line, Angle Line, and Plasma Table
• Cut and process steel to job specs and drawings
• Measure and verify parts for accuracy
• Set up machines correctly and run jobs efficiently
• Perform daily equipment maintenance (greasing/oiling)
• Keep your work area clean and organized
• Work closely with the Shop Foreman and Plant Manager
