Paylocity is seeking a Band Saw Operator in Midland, TX to set up, align, and run band saws for steel cutting per work orders. You will measure, mark, and trim metal to exact dimensions while upholding quality and safety standards.

The role requires reading blueprints and cut lists, selecting proper blades, and performing routine maintenance. You will collaborate with team members to maintain output and minimize waste in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience operating industrial band saws or metal fabrication equipment preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing/steel fabrication environment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and cut lists.
• Able to accurately use measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, squares).
• Basic mechanical aptitude for machine adjustments and minor maintenance.
• Safe forklift and overhead crane operation or willingness to be certified.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Able to work independently and in a fast-paced team setting.

Responsabilités

• Set up and operate band saws according to schedules and specs.
• Measure, mark, and cut steel materials to required lengths.
• Select and install appropriate blades based on material and thickness.
• Adjust feed rate, blade speed, guides, and clamps for performance.
• Move and secure materials using cranes, forklifts, or hoists.
• Inspect cuts with tape measures, calipers, and squares for accuracy.
• Remove burrs and ensure proper identification and staging of materials.
• Perform routine blade changes and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain productivity while minimizing waste and downtime.
• Document material usage, cut lists, and production reports.
• Identify equipment issues and report to Supervisor.
• Follow safety policies, LOTO procedures, and safe handling practices.
• Keep work area clean and organized using 5S principles.
