Job summary

Sargon Steel is seeking a dependable Saw Operator to join our Steel Fabrication Shop in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves cutting and preparing materials for fabrication, receiving incoming material, and keeping materials organized to help the shop stay on schedule.

You will measure and mark materials, operate saws and shop equipment safely, unload deliveries, verify materials, and maintain a clean, efficient work area while following all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to use Speed Square.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and punctuality.
• Work safely in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Saw operation or steel fabrication experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cut materials needed for fabrication accurately and in a timely manner to keep up with shop production demands
• Measure and mark materials according to required dimensions
• Operate saws and other shop equipment safely
• Unload trucks and receive incoming material deliveries
• Verify and account for materials received
• Label incoming materials with the appropriate PO numbers
• Organize and properly store materials in the yard and shop
• Operate a forklift to move and organize materials
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company and shop safety procedures
• Assist with other shop duties as needed
