Job summary

Composite Factory is seeking an Auto Body Prep Technician in Mooresville, NC to prepare parts for paint and support refinishing processes. You will prep surfaces, mask areas, sand, and mix primers and coatings to exact specifications.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of auto body prep experience. OSHA compliance and respirator fit testing are required. We offer comprehensive benefits and a climate-controlled work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years’ experience in auto body preparation.
• Must pass respirator fit testing and remain clean-shaven per OSHA.
• Must wear a tight-fitting respirator for shift duration.
• Knowledge of painting techniques and surface preparation.

Responsibilities

• Operate painting equipment safely according to standards.
• Prepare surfaces for bonding and aesthetics.
• Mask and protect parts not to be painted.
• Mix primers, paints, and coatings to specifications.
• Inspect primed/painted units for quality of workmanship.
• Keep tools and work area clean and in good condition.
• Follow OSHA safety rules and hazardous material handling procedures.
