Job summary

Fibreworks Composites LLC in Mooresville, NC is seeking an Auto Body Prep Technician to prepare parts for paint, ensure surfaces are properly prepped, and support the refinishing process. You will operate painting equipment, mask areas, sand surfaces, and apply primers and coatings while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Requirements include 1-2 years of auto body prep experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1-2 years' experience in auto body prep or related field.
• Must pass respirator fit testing and OSHA standards.
• Knowledge of automotive painting processes (primers, base coats, and clear coats).

Responsibilities

• Operates painting equipment following safety standards.
• Prepares surface for bonding and aesthetics.
• Masks and protects parts not to be painted.
• Fills cavities with putty to attain a smooth surface.
• Sands, featheredge and prep for paint.
• Mixes primer, paint and surface treatments per specifications.
• Selects and mixes coating liquids to produce desired color.
• Inspects primed/painted units for quality of workmanship.
• Maintains tools and keeps workspace clean and in good repair.
