Job summary

Monroechamber in Fort Atkinson, WI is seeking a Production/Assembly Technician for the first shift. You will assemble precision products such as scales, sensors, and indicators in a clean, team-oriented environment.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to read basic blueprints. Soldering experience is preferred. Shift is 5:30am-2:30pm Monday-Thursday with potential overtime on Fridays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and assembly instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing, production, and quality processes.
• Preferred experience in assembly, electronics manufacturing, or production environments.
• Preferred soldering experience or certification.
• Preferred technical training in electronics, assembly, or manufacturing.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during the shift.
• Frequent use of hands for detailed assembly work requiring fine motor skills.
• Regular lifting of materials and components up to 10 pounds.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to move materials or equipment weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance or equipment.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble a variety of products related to scales, sensors, and indicators according to specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, assembly instructions, and blueprints.
• Use hand tools and production equipment, including soldering irons, screwdrivers, drills, cable cutters, and related tools.
• Perform soldering and hand assembly tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ensure workstations are properly stocked with components, connectors, seals, and other materials needed for production.
• Report inventory shortages and assist with replenishment as needed.
• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect materials and components to identify defects or non-conforming products.
• Read charts and specifications to identify the correct parts and components for assembly.
• Complete quality documentation, time studies, and production reports as required.
• Clean, package, and prepare completed products for shipment.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve production goals and maintain quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
