Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Production Associate to start immediately in Gurnee, IL. The role involves training across Assembly, Lapping, Conveyance, and Shipping/Receiving, with mechanical assembly of pumps and valves, and adherence to quality standards.

You will work in multiple assembly areas, follow non-blueprint diagrams, and perform order picking and warehouse support. This is a contract-to-hire position with 1st shift, $21/hr, weekly pay.

Responsibilities

• Train and work in four primary areas: Assembly, Lapping, Conveyance, and Shipping/Receiving.
• Perform mechanical assembly on pumps and valves such as cartridge, in-line, and check valves.
• Work in multiple assembly areas from basic to electrical assembly and more sophisticated operations.
• Follow drawings and diagrams (non-blueprint) to assemble parts and components.
• Handle and assemble small parts and metal pieces with precision and care.
• Operate lapping machines to smooth surfaces to specified tolerances and quality standards.
• Perform order picking in Conveyance by pushing carts and selecting parts for delivery to assembly areas.
• Support warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving tasks.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely during assembly and related operations.
• Conduct quality checks on products (first piece, in-process, final assembly inspections and testing).
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the shift.
