Job summary

GPD Global is seeking a Factory Assembly Technician to perform mechanical and electrical assembly of precision manufacturing equipment such as dispensing systems and SMT testers. You will build sub-assemblies and complete machines from engineering drawings and BOMs, ensuring precision, quality, and adherence to procedures on the production floor.

This role supports testing, calibrations, and documentation, with strong focus on 5S, ERP/MES usage, and safe handling of electronic components.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school certificate a plus.
• 1-3+ years of experience in mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly, ideally in industrial or equipment manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and BOMs.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, air tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Basic understanding of pneumatic and fluid systems (tubing, fittings, valves).
• Basic electrical/wiring skills (crimping, soldering, terminating connectors).
• Ability to follow detailed written work instructions with a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical sub-assemblies and complete machines per engineering drawings, BOMs, and instructions.
• Assemble precision components including linear slides, servo motors, gearboxes, pneumatic components, and dispensing pump mechanisms.
• Perform basic wiring and cable harness assembly per electrical schematics.
• Install and align sensors, encoders, cameras, lasers, and other electromechanical components.
• Torque fasteners and verify assembly tolerances using precision measuring tools.
