Job summary

Precision Fuzing and Sensors seeks an Assembly Inspector in Middletown, CT to inspect complex subassemblies and completed units per drawings and specs, ensuring dimensional accuracy and workmanship. The role supports the Operations Department and requires meticulous data recording.

Responsibilities include reviewing test data sheets, verifying tools/fixtures, and documenting non-conformances. Collaboration with QA and potential customer inspection involvement are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of assembly inspection or related manufacturing experience.
• Proficient in shop mathematics and blueprint reading; able to read specs and use precision instruments.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO9001, or similar regulated standards.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Inspect complex subassemblies and completed units per drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and operation sheets for dimensional characteristics; record non-conforming conditions.
• Review test data sheets for subassemblies and final product for completeness and tolerances.
• Confirm that tools and fixtures produce acceptable product.
• Check panels and chassis for identification, damage, and compatibility; accept for use.
• Record inspection results and complete documentation; sign off.
• Coordinate with QA engineers to communicate non-conformances and corrective actions.
• May interface with customer inspectors during concurrent inspections; plot measurements on charts.
• Interpret sampling plans and participate in process improvement activities.
