Qualifications

• Strong mathematical skills for measurements and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts prior to assembly using measuring tools.
• Examines work pieces for defects and measures to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Verifies conformance with specifications using rulers and gauges.
• Sets up and operates fabricating machines (brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drill presses).
• May position, weld, and assemble components following blueprints and layouts.
• Operates safety equipment and maintains a clean work area.
• Studies engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials and task sequences.
