Job summary

Amsted Rail Company Inc. is seeking a capable assembler to perform detailed assembly and disassembly of products per drawings and control plans. You will inspect subassemblies using gauges and QA docs, record results, and set up workstations with proper fixtures.

You will also operate cranes, grinders, and PCs as needed, lifting up to 95 lbs repeatedly, while maintaining a clean, safe work area and meeting daily production targets.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use common and pneumatic hand tools safely.
• Ability to do basic math, count properly and read and understand written documentation.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to lift or move a minimum of 95 lbs. approximately 8-10 times per hour safely.
• Must be able to operate pneumatic grinder for up to 5 hours per day.
• Must be able to use a crane to assist in lifting parts and be able to push these suspended parts safely.
• Must be able to operate a personal computer without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed assembly and dis-assembly of products per engineering drawings, work instructions, and control plans.
• Inspect subassemblies and finished product using gauges per QA documentation.
• Record inspection/test results.
• Set up assembly workstations and adjust fixtures.
• Interpret inspection/test results to reflect job function requirements.
• Enter time and labor data daily and meet production standards.
• Operate lifting devices and cranes during assembly as needed.
• Engrave, print, and attach serial number tags, labels to products as required.
• Use bander to secure product to pallets as required.
• Provide feedback on safety, quality, production and documentation.
